Free Full Assessment

Just the word “assessment” sounds daunting doesn’t it? It sounds like you are being tested, measured or judged in some way. It’s not like that, I promise, I’m not interested in judging you, I am in no position to judge anyone! I am not interested in measuring you against a set of criteria, establishing a diagnosis or even giving a label to your problem. I’m interested in you and where you are as a person. Yes I need to get some feel for your situation, but what I’m really interested in is your readiness for a shift in awareness.

Your readiness has nothing to do with the size or complexity of your addictions, or how ill you think you are. Your readiness depends upon your aptitude, your sense that there is something here that can help you. If after reading through this website, you find that you are intrigued by my approach and in tune with my understanding, then that shift is already happening and in that respect you have already passed the first part of the assessment.

A full assessment takes about 60 minutes. The aim is for us to get some kind of picture of you and your situation, but it is also an opportunity for you to get a feel for me and to find out whether my approach is right for you. You need to get a feel as to whether we can establish a trusting therapeutic relationship, as this is key to you recovery.

The assessment is a joint process, I have expertise and personal and professional knowledge of drugs and addiction and years of experience in working with addicts, but you are the expert on your life, you also have skills, strengths and experiences and you will need to draw on these to get you out of this mess. My role is not to take your power away, it is to help you to reclaim your power and take back real control of your life.

Most people find the assessment helpful in its own right; it is a discovery process which allows you to see your situation more objectively and gives us clues as to the best way of managing your recovery. I will introduce you to some of the techniques and practices that I use, and will aim to give you a direct experience of what it is like to quieten your thinking, observe your thoughts and feelings and explore with you the possibilities that this brings you in your recovery. You will get to try the techniques for real and see for your self what it’s all about.

If during the assessment we can establish an effective therapeutic relationship and you are comfortable and confident in our approach and want to really give it a go, then we will create a recovery programme according to your own personal needs which can be reviewed and adapted as your needs change.

Recovery plans last for a minimum of 10 weeks and can last for up to 9 months. I will be your own personal recovery coach and will support you throughout your recovery programme. The programme consists of simple exercises for you to apply to your daily life as well as intensive one to one therapy at my office in Central London. If it turns out that you need further support, specialist medical help, or other services that we can't offer, then we will help to arrange this too.

What does the assessment cost?

NOTHING

I’ll give you an hour of my time free of charge, because if this isn’t right for you I don’t want you to waste any money; I want you to know within yourself before you make any commitment. But here’s the deal. Just because I am offering you my time and energy free of charge, it does not mean that it is of no value. On the contrary it is of very real value, way beyond its monetary value. There are many people who will say that my time and energy is priceless and that it has transformed them completely and in some circumstances even saved their lives.

What I ask is you treat me with respect and that you don’t waste my time and energy. I ask that you read the website before arranging an assessment and that if you do arrange an assessment, that you turn up for the appointment and you do so in a fit state.

Do we have a deal?
